December 23, 2009 To:
Harbour Isles Homeowners From: Joan Hassler, President RE:
Appointment of Impartial Umpire As you all may know, the previously appointed umpire, Retired Judge
Smith, withdrew due to an unknown conflict. Both appraisers tried to waive any such conflict, but Umpire Smith would
not agree. Circuit Judge Burton C. Connor has now appointed Retired Judge Ben L. Bryan, Jr. Esq. to
be the Umpire in the Harbour Isles vs. Allstate appraisal matter. The two appraisers from NFA
and Allstate will contact the new umpire, inquire if he would like to tour the Lake Charles townhouses and also provide him
documents necessary so he can commence review of same. The appraisers will then schedule a date to meet with the umpire
and present their case before him.
